Noncollision singularities (NCS) in Newtonian N-body problems is a kind of initial conditions leading to solutions which blows up to infinity within finite time. Its existence was conjecture by Painleve in 1897 for N>3.
Xia proved this conjecture by giving a model of N=5. The hardest case N=4 remains open since then. In this talk, we explain the general mechanism guaranteeing the existence of NCS and show the existence of NCS in Newtonian four-body problem in two different models.
